Ann Burns – CEO and Managing Director
With a background in recruiting, counseling and employee relations, Ann has over 20 years’ experience in recruiting and staffing. Since the inception of BurnsSearch in 1999, Ann has built the company into a highly recognizable consulting/staffing company providing a superior level of expertise particularly within the mortgage and financial services industries. Ann is a native of Edinburgh, Scotland and now calls Dallas home having lived here since 1996. She possesses a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Psychology. and she is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management.
Her motto is “everyone coming through our doors should want to come back”.
Jon Mlinar – Executive Recruiter
Jon has worked as a Recruiter for over 20 years serving clients in a variety of industries, including banking and mortgage. His focus includes: accounting and financial professionals, attorneys and legal paraprofessionals, banking and mortgage operations, IT, data analytics and statistical analysis. Prior to his recruiting career, Jon worked for several years as an auditor and financial consultant with a Big 4 and regional public accounting firm. He also worked in the banking industry as President of a Dallas-based community bank. He graduated from Southern Methodist University with a degree in Accounting. Jon has two children and two grandchildren, and he enjoys cycling and volunteering.
Carrie Peacock – Business Manager
A native of the Dallas area, Carrie attended Baylor University, where she earned her BBA in Accounting as well as her MBA. She worked as an auditor with KPMG for 3 years, specializing in telecom and software clients. Upon leaving KPMG, she worked for a recruiting firm for 2 years, where she focused on recruiting finance and accounting professionals. In 2004, she returned to KPMG as a Project Manager, where she managed client budgets and staffing, as well as global audit coordination. She came to BurnsSearch in 2010, and is responsible for all accounting, payroll and employee onboarding duties, as well as business operations and vendor development.
Dean Earls – Executive Recruiter/Sourcer
With a background in teaching and theatre, Dean brings a different approach to the world of recruiting. After teaching for 10 years, Dean decided to work for one of the national staffing firms and worked a blended desk developing business and recruiting. His area of expertise was in finance and accounting and his focus was always on those “difficult to find skills”. With an aptitude for research and due diligence, he has developed a methodology for finding more passive candidates and was one of the first to utilize and benefit from LinkedIn in 2008. Dean has been with BurnsSearch for eight years. He is Texas born and bred – you know that pretty quickly after talking to him! But, we love accents at BurnsSearch.
