Ann Burns – CEO and Managing Director
With an extensive background in recruiting, counseling and employee relations, Ann has over 20 years’ experience in recruiting and staffing. Since the inception of BurnsSearch, Inc. in 1999, Ann has built the company into a highly recognizable consulting/staffing company providing a superior level of expertise particularly within the mortgage and financial services industries. Ann has been highly effective in supporting Fortune 500, mid-size and start up mortgage organizations providing staff to C-level candidates. Ann also appeared on MSNBC representing Women and Investing. Ann is a native of Edinburgh, Scotland and now calls Dallas home having lived here since 1996. She possesses a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Psychology. and she is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management.
Her motto is “everyone coming through our doors should want to come back”.
Jon Mlinar – Executive Recruiter
Jon has worked as a Recruiter for 30 years serving clients in a variety of industries, including banking and mortgage. His focus includes: mortgage operations, accounting and financial professionals, attorneys and legal paraprofessionals, banking operations, IT, data analytics and statistical analysis. In addition. He has placed a number of Executive and C-level professionals nationwide. Prior to his recruiting career, Jon worked for several years as an auditor and financial consultant with EY and a regional public accounting firm. He also worked in the banking industry culminating as President of a Dallas-based community bank. He graduated from Southern Methodist University with a degree in Accounting. Jon has two children and two grandchildren, and he enjoys the performing arts, cycling and volunteering.
Amy Norton – Executive Recruiter
Amy began her career in recruiting by starting her own firm in 1985, Mortgage Bankers Consultants. Her firm was one of the first three companies in the US that specialized in mortgage banking recruiting. In the mid-1990’s, the RTC was in the process of dissolving assets of all the Savings and Loan Banks after the S&L crisis. She placed over 2000 contract consultants in the industry during that time, including many former C-level executives of the S&L’s. Amy has been featured on MSNBC in recognition of being one of the fastest growing small companies. In addition, she was quoted in The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times, regarding what, at the time, was a new idea: “working contract to lead you to your next job”. Amy has a wealth of knowledge in the mortgage arena and is an incredible asset to BurnsSearch. She is a native of New York and attended University of North Texas. Amy is also a former board member of DMBA, as well as a member of TMBA and NMBA.
Willie Moncure – Executive Recruiter
Willie has 20+ years of recruiting experience. During his career he has recruited candidates for Finance and Accounting, Telecommunications, Human Resources, Banking and Mortgage. Before becoming a recruiter, he worked in the hotel business. Willie graduated from Jackson State University with a BA in Sociology. Willie has been focused in mortgage for the past 4 years and continues to support all levels of candidates developing excellent relationships with everyone he comes in contact with.
Carrie Peacock – Business Manager
A native of the Dallas area, Carrie attended Baylor University, where she earned her BBA in Accounting as well as her MBA. She worked as an auditor with KPMG for 3 years, specializing in telecom and software clients. Upon leaving KPMG, she worked for a recruiting firm for 2 years, where she focused on recruiting finance and accounting professionals. In 2004, she returned to KPMG as a Project Manager, where she managed client budgets and staffing, as well as global audit coordination. She came to BurnsSearch in 2010, and is responsible for all accounting, payroll and employee onboarding duties, as well as business operations and vendor development. Carrie works side by side with Ann and understands all facets of our business especially within mortgage. She always displays professionalism and courtesy to everyone she comes in contact with.
